Lucky Bamboo

Lucky Bamboo

The Bamboo is often referred to as ‘lucky’ in Chinese Cultures. It is fast growing, hearty and has a mulitple of uses. When gathered in groups, the number of stalks can have different meanings and bring strength to different situations.
One of my favorites is the ‘group of three’, also discussed in the latest newsletter. Three is for the trinity, the family and cooperation. The arrangement here has three bamboo stalks. If you are familiar with the Five Element Theory in feng shui, many of the earth’s resources can be representated in our day to day possessions; Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire. This arrangement is aupicious as it contains all five of the elements! Look closely!

1. Wood is the actual plant; tall, green, and fast growing.
2. Earth is the tumbled stones in the vase.
3. Metal is represented by the glass vase.
4. Water is the actual water in the vase.
5.Fire is represented by the colour red. A red ribbon is sure to attract positive energy.
This arrangement can sit easily on your desk, bedside table or dining area. If you place this in the center of your home, your Health Area, it can help to bring positive energy in your whole body.
