Where is the Money?

I have been asked many times; “Why is feng shui so complicated? Isn’t there a quick fix to help me with my money issues?”

The layers and layers of feng shui do seem complicated. There is not a ‘one size fits all’ for each situation.  However, it is be possible for you to put a few changes into place, with good intentions, and observe the shift in your situation. The rewards will come.

A practical solution: You need to make a change in order to change something else. To shorten the onslaught of facts, rules and auspicious tools here are a few steps to just get started!

  1. Take charge: your desk, your thoughts and your money.
  2. Clear the trail: file, toss and organize with new energy.
  3. Control your environment:  images and details that support your life

Taking charge is more than moving your desk around; your attitude towards money will validate what is really going on.  Do you respect what you do to earn money? Do you keep track of where it is spent? Take an active approach of what is coming in and going out. Then you can make choices about what needs to change.

There is an old saying, “Take care of the pennies, and the dollars will take care of themselves.”  To update this saying, “Take care of the dollars, and the thousands will take care of themselves.” Be accountable for all your transactions.

Clearing the trail is a lot about papers and dust and tangibles, but it is more. Mental clutter and emotional clutter can also sabotage your efforts: trying to please others, worrying about paying the bills, anxiety about meeting deadlines, or trying to explain something to your spouse.

Start by clearing and cleaning everything that connects with money at your home and workplace; desk, drawers, briefcase, and even your inbox…just get rid of the ‘clutter’. By doing this you can assess the situation. File what is finished, sort what is needed, chuck or delegate the rest. What do you really need? Are you living in the past? Do any of these ‘things’ make you feel guilty, disrespected or left behind? If so, it is time to move them along.

Another direct association to money is where you keep it. Perhaps it is time to clear out your wallet. When was the last time you dumped your purse, cleared out your car or sorted through the receipts? Think about purchasing a new wallet to hold your fresh new earnings.

That ‘new’ money, with new intentions, will help you take a step in the right direction. There, you’ll find the money.
