Animal and Plants can BOOST Your Wealth Area

Much of the Wealth Area focus has been indoors; regarding your desk, chair and assorted items related to monetary goals and fame. You may be failing to include a bigger picture…. your property outside. This spring may be the time to give a boost to this area – and get it working for you!

The property you live on, regardless of how big, how small, it is an extension of you and the family. The outside of your property can reveal what is going on inside the house, good and bad.

To locate the wealth area, stand at the curb and look at your house; it is in the far left quadrant. The bagua grid is flexible, and can be used both indoors and out. This grid reveals where to include enhancements in the front garden, backyard or the entire lot. This defined area is auspicious for things related to wealth, and can be enhanced in many ways.

In my case, I have a front garden, and a detached garage in the back. Therefore, I can enhance two areas; a wealth area in the front of my home and another area in the back of the full lot. If you have any doubts, please send me your lot/footprint drawing plans.

A simple example of a boost or ‘cure’ in this area is a tree/bush with (ideally) its own enhancements; things like bright colours, flowers, seeds or interesting variegated leaves. Pick items you love; the goal is to make this space stand out from the rest.

‘Wealth and Abundance’ relates to the wood element. This area represents tall, green living items; therefore a tree makes perfect sense. With this ‘tree or other items’, you’ll need an additional enhancement; red colour, berries, flowers or an evergreen feature.

A water element is also needed for nourishment and growth. Pick something blue (plant pots, sculpture) or use actual water; a bird bath, small fountain or tumbled rocks to represent water. There are lots of choices and each is individual.

Some of the best support in your Wealth Area can includes practical, easy to find solutions: Here are a few suggestions for groupings in your yard.

  • An evergreen tree, red tulips/gardenias/impatiens and a bird bath.
  • A red maple tree, red/purple/orange annuals, small fountain.
  • Magnolia tree, blue heron sculpture, flowering ground cover.
  • Flowering bushes (rhododendron, skimmia, or dogwood) surrounded by tumbled rocks.
  • A huge rock, flowering bushes and a tall lamppost, coloured or variegated ground cover.

~ There is a pattern: Three levels of 3 or 4 items, all chosen with intention.

If the back of your house naturally drops off to a ravine, rolling hill or heavy traffic, you may consider a man-made correction; something to hold your wealth towards the house. Solid items can ‘raise the energy’ in this area such as a row of trees or hedges, heavy rocks or tall lights.

The idea is to bring attention and vitality into this area of your life, and keep it safe.

If you can attract birds, butterflies and bees into your yard, they are considered a very positive force as they boost attention for fame, wealth and abundance. Therefore, hang a bird feeder and plan to grow flowers that encourage bees and insect pollination; great forward thinking ideas.

You may be surprised how beneficial it is to invite animals into your yard. Those of you with pets can count on their presence to work for you!  Representation of animals in art, sculpture or carvings can also be included. Here are a few excerpts about animals in your yard from a feng shui landscape architect, ‘Success of the Land’ by Shelly Sparks:

Having a resident cat can deter rodents from nesting.

Having a resident cat can deter rodents from nesting.

~ Cat’s are generally considered good luck because they dispel evil spirits wherever they go. They also go where the food is good, so they are seen as good fortune.

~ Dogs represent loyalty so they also are considered lucky; even more so than cats. They bring fidelity and prosperity with them. In Chinese folklore, dogs are more desirable than cats. Interesting; stray yellow dogs are considered unlucky.

~ Deer are considered lucky, as they are associated with the four enjoyments of life; happy, promotion, longevity, and good fortune. (Sorry to my friends out there who have deer damaging on their property.)

~ Rats are active at night and steal food, so they are symbolic scoundrels. Because they are planners and save abundant supplies, they also represent industry and prosperity.

~ Bats represent good luck, as they can bring prosperity. The Chinese word for ‘bat’ -sounds like the word ‘happiness’.

~ Fish represent freedom, wealth, harmony and marital bliss. The Chinese word for ‘fish’ sounds like ‘abundance’; many blessings include presentation of a large fish – a wish for your wealth.

~ Frogs and toads are a symbol of longevity. Frogs particularly can symbolize reclaiming lost opportunities, finding lost money or having a chance to acquire money. Refer to blog on Money Frogs.

If you are brave enough to choose a water feature for an enhancement in your yard, include water-plants and fish; this will attract other insects and animals into your yard. With more activity in your yard, you will have more energy and growth coming into your space.

If you do have a small fountain in your yard, be sure to turn the flow towards the house; after all this work, you wouldn’t want this feature to push the money away! If the fountain is round and flows equally in all directions, that is also good.

Your Wealth Area should be a focal point in your yard and is easy to enhance: Choosing trees and plants that thrive in your neighbourhood, utilizing a water element to nurture this area and bring in lights and colour for additional attention. All these efforts will keep your yard and finances blooming and healthy.

All the best for: a fabulous, lush, pet/bird friendly, joyous, prosperous and abundant yard!

Enjoy the journey.
