Ask Kathryn: REAL CASES – Balance in the Master Bedroom

Deities can be used in a display in the Helpful People Area.

THE CALL

Chris initially called me to her home to assess the flow in her home. Her 3 grown children all moved back to the family home for the summer, and OMG, the energy was a bit different with 5 adults in the house.

Yes, their lives were on different time zones and their working schedules were all over the place, so we had to create a boundary between the ‘common areas’ and the ‘private areas’, as everyone needed their space.

THE REALITY

I observed that it was interesting that Chris described herself as a devote catholic, with deities and paraphernalia to support this, yet there were a number of concrete Buddha’s in the home as well. I opened the conversation when I saw a Buddha in the girl’s bedroom. ‘What’s with the Buddha’s?’

Turns out, they ‘like’ Buddha’s; one was wearing a ball cap and sunglasses!

Although Buddhism doesn’t clash with Catholicism (they have a similar list of ethic behaviors), I explained that these items also have a ‘pulse’, same as the Catholic deities; it is implied they represent a sacred space.

THE DETECTIVE WORK

When we arrived in the Master bedroom, another Buddha was present, along with prayer cards and deities on the wall.

“As a general rule”, I mentioned, “Only ONE ‘helpful person’ is necessary in most areas. If you are planning to enhance your ‘Helpful People Area & Benefactors’ for a specific purpose, I can help you with this. Tell me more about requiring support from Buddha.”

She sat down on the bed and looked around. “My relationship with my husband is a bit strained, and with all these kids home, we just don’t talk. The Buddha’s are supposed to bring calmness, peace, love-harmony…you know.”

And then, the revelation: “My God, I’ve turned my bedroom into a church!”

RESULTS:

We both laughed for a few minutes!

Then, we talked about the assorted items in the room; which ones should go and what can stay.

  • We talked about colours; using quieter colours to quiet the mood.
  • Explained the importance of using ‘two’s to supports the partnership.
  • According to the Five Elements life chart, this couple is entering a quieter lifestyle; it’s time to fuel communication with her husband.

I don’t really have to tell you how this worked out. (Wink!) 🙂

I didn’t know until I was on my way out the door, that it was her birthday! She invited me over to give her the best birthday gift ever! Wow!

Sometimes, even the best intentions need a fresh pair of eyes to reveal what is off-balance in a space.

Enjoy your journey, Kathryn

Hi Kathryn!

First of all I love, loved all the ladies in the Group Sessions. I always looked forward to Thursdays to see everyone.

I was having to clear out a room filled with papers and materials, to sort, and then put them all away.
The idea of vacuuming, dusting and keeping things clean was HUGE.

Huge awareness of actually being able to sort, and then find everything again. This is a huge concern for all parts of my house; now I know.

My sewing room is functional now and i only moved one thin… Read more
