Being in Command

[contact-form][contact-field label=’Name’ type=’name’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Email’ type=’email’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Website’ type=’url’/][contact-field label=’Comment’ type=’textarea’ required=’1’/][/contact-form] The Command Position in feng shui simplifies why you need to find the ‘best place’ to sit, eat, work or sleep. For maximum efficiency you will need to have your back protected, your vision unobstructed and good supports on each side of your body. It is easy to understand the routine process in setting up your desk and physical environment, but there is so much more.

Being in command goes a bit further as it includes knowing your purpose in life. You will need to be in control of your thoughts, your speech and your intentions with each task. Each one of these actions will relate back to your specific goals and your life path.

If you are feeling negative much of the time, are you sending out irrational or conflicting messages? When you are physically agitated, does your swearing get out of hand? Frustration and stress are often revealed when one is not progressing through life ‘fast enough’. Could this be happening to you? Or, have you lost your direction?

One of my clients is committed to his self-owned business, yet he is frustrated in his situation. He has a passion for fulfilling the need for his services, yet admits he cannot continue with the current level of income. He called me for a consultation, yet he has already decided to ‘give it one more year’.

So, what is he going to change in that year? Can he hire more help? Should he raise his prices for services? Is it possible to extend the services to another venue, increase value for services, or even sell the business? Which way does he want to go? He still needs to decide on the action, the backup plan, and the threads connected with each decision.

I can’t answer these questions for my client. I can only ask questions and invite the client to set his own goals in motion. Being in command is more than finding the best place to sit; it is the foundation and the focus of all your actions. If you find yourself recklessly trying to meet deadlines or getting pissed off at people, you may need to take a closer look at the situation.

To really be in command:

  •  Give yourself time to make sound decisions.
  • Embrace a realistic approach when setting your personal, professional and physical goals.
  • Save some of your energy for crisis management, when it occurs.
  • Ask for help when you need it.

Taking charge of your life, in all areas, can help you be in command every day as you will always know which direction you are heading.
