Spring is still around the corner, but already, the anticipation is killing me! This year, I just can’t wait.
I’m tired of the grey-blue skies, the rain and the fog so thick it hides the mountains to the north. These last few months have been long. (As I write this, the sun came out through the clouds!)
I went for a walk on West Broadway this weekend and I found a new store with SO MUCH COLOUR, you can’t image! So, I took pictures to share!
The store is called ‘bed’; simple as that! And, they have every colour of bedding available; locally dyed and sewn in Canada! WOW! www.bed-online.com
SO, which colour of bedding should I choose?
RED? ~ Red sheets generally only work well as a ‘honeymoon’ or ‘celebration’ colour. Although red can refer to passion, it can also tip towards confrontation or anger. As with most issues with red, less is best. (Keep him guessing!)
Purple? ~ Ah, the colour of royalty, or ascension. If you love purple and gravitate to purple, then, go for it! You’ll dream like a queen!
Blue? ~ Blue is a great colour, calm and serene, but some people don’t like the water reference. However, the colour blue can be a ‘cure’ for night sweats; the sub conscious can believe that you are bathing in cooling waters.
Green? ~ Green relates to growth and high energy. Dark green may be too much intensity for a good night’s sleep. If you are a light-sleeper, choose a less-intense green such as a pastel; think of baby-soft colours.
Yellow? ~ This is a healthy choice being the colour of the sun; the sun’s rays can solve most of our problems. Both healing and nourishing; if the ‘bright sun’ is going to keep you awake, then choose a softer, butter shade of yellow.
Orange? ~ Wow, I can’t image sleeping in orange sheets! Perhaps a muddier pumpkin-shade would work better. If you decide to sleep in this fire-ball, be sure to turn the lights off early.
Pink or Peach? ~ These are the colours for young love, or cultivating new love. Imagine soft, relaxing, fresh warmth for a good night’s sleep.
Classic White? ~ Always a crisp, cool choice. Go to sleep with your mind clear of clutter and illusions; wake up to a clear slate and a fresh new day. Classic white matches everything.
Beige? ~ Another classic. This is also an excellent earth-tone colour to promote the sense of nurturing and caring for your body. Good grounding and healing qualities.
As for patterns? ~ The ‘softer’ the design, the significance is more delicate; the stronger (and pointy) the lines, the more aggressive and dramatic. It depends on whether you want a calm restful tone to your room, or a ‘WOW’ factor.
You decide; which colour speaks to you?
Well, I can’t decide! I think I’ll pick out a new comforter with all of the colours! A rainbow in my room should help my ease my transition into spring this year!
