Double Trouble?

It is SO EASY to accumulate more than we really need.

Have you fallen for the ‘ol -‘BUY TWO and SAVE’?

That’s OK, I’m guilty too!

The problem is, what do you do with the extra item(s)?

Marketing and retail competition is cluttering up our homes and lives! LOL! Really!

Q: Can we resist an ‘extra’ bag of nachos? – Just in case the kids bring their friends over.

Q: Can we resist a giant case – cans of tuna fish? What about salsa? And, other foods?

Q: Where do you store 12 rolls of paper towels?

Q: DO I NEED two gallons of anti-wrinkle cream; this week?

Q: What about the ‘extra calories’ that are included in the SUPER SIZE?

While in Vancouver, we were encourage to ‘stock up’ in response for the earthquake preparedness program. As my husband was on the Response Team, it only made sense to walk-the-walk and follow the guidelines.

Years later, when packing up to move, we found that many of our purchases had expired! Not only had we wasted money purchasing food items, but other items were too bulky and we just gave them all away. (lucky neighbors!)

The biggest annoyance was the GIANT package of 48 rolls of toilet paper! (Apparently, in a crisis, toilet paper is rated very high in NEED!)

As we were joking about donating the case of t-paper to the neighbors, and LAUGHING about how to split it up…. the movers came in and shipped the WHOLE BATCH to our new home! We actually PAID a service to ship toilet paper across the country! GEEZ!

We consumers need to be more aware! PAY ATTENTION! Our lives are getting more and more cluttered with every stop at the grocery store!

Ask yourself how LONG will it take to use up these products?

Take CHARGE! Say NO; at least once in a while. There will be more room in your home and in your wallet!

~ May the buyer be aware of each transaction…

Enjoy your journey,
