Take the quiz nowWhen a person describes their day as ‘being stressful’: it can be perceived as a tactic to attract attention or a weakness in their coping skills.
Attracting attention by the ‘woe is me’ habit often begins at an early age. This pattern works as a way to get attention. If this is a constant predicament, you may get sucked in. If compelled to offer a sympathetic ear, you can wait for the crisis to run its course or you could label this person ‘unlucky’, and move on.
A ‘stressful day’ in anyone’s’ life can contain a plethora of itty-bitty nuances, or a BIG issue. In fact, any change in your environment can bring stress, as well as enjoyment!
It is the storms of life,
That makes us who we are. (Unknown)
There are two types of stress we learn to deal with: regular stress and dis-stress.
We all need a little stress in order to step out of our comfort zone, to grow, to seek, and to be creative. This type of regular stress compels us to keep trying and move forward along the way.
Dis-stress gets in the way of progress. Anxiety and stress can be crippling; there can be too much of everything else to process. Or, could it be speculation that your life or business could fall victim of economic change, financial famine or disaster. Dis-stress can leave you unable to make clear decisions.
I sometimes struggle with this myself: If you could detach yourself for a moment to look at the situation, problem solving is required for gain. Your creative juices need to kick in.
When does stress turn into dis-stress? There is usually a tipping point:
De-stressing is just stepping up to the plate,
and then, sorting it out.
Yes, the storms of life can bring us down, but the Entrepreneur inside you will find a way to carry on.
The insight of feng shui teaches us that we can only handle one thing at a time, so make sure you do it well. Trust yourself to meet each issue that crosses your path…and grow, to be a creative, well-balanced person.
All the best,
Kathryn
