Take Me Back To…Normal.

Bella & Quinn. Making new friends is important for all family members.

Change; it is inevitable. Coming out of hibernation each year is a BIG DEAL! All of a sudden, one day you’ll be tired of wearing the same clothes all winter and look forward to a change. With daylight savings time, there is energy for a walk after dinner. These are all signs of the change coming ahead!

Many of us have been sick or ‘under the weather’ this past month; could it be the SAD syndrome (Seasonal Affective Disorder)? That tiny, little glimpse of sunshine on the horizon has the power to make or break our day. Either way, whenever we are feeling a bit ‘down and out’, it is when we are at the weakest point when our coping skills are trying to cope. Time to take action!

Spring is change; it brings with it an abundance of energy! (It’ll be here VERY SOON!) You can grab onto this ride and move, shake and shimmy or jump into activities! You only have to look for them.
Feeling ‘normal’ is a state of mind: being in a space where you are comfortable in your own skin and exist harmoniously in your own space without guilt, shame or malicious intent. ~ Your inner balance.
So, what else is going on this change of season? What do you need to change in your life?

One of the most interesting quotes:
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
― Jim Rohn

In other words, if you want something to change, evaluate the key people around you.
Consider their disposition, positive or negative. Are they optimistic enough to help problem solve, or are they critical of others?

Gauge the common ground you have with neighbours and friends; some friends are great for fitness walks while others are perfect for travel companions. Therefore, if there is a place in your life that is not being fulfilled, get out there and change this; go find your passion! Join a book club, learn another language, book an amazing cruise or even take that historical bible study course you’ve been putting off.

Making new friends and learning new things is important for all family members.
New mantra: Spring is for change and growth. If you don’t ride the change this year…will you allow for it next year?

Four ways to bring you balance, and Get Back to Normal.
1. Get social.
2. Learn something new.
3. Express Yourself.
4. Start moving and breathe.

I keep a ‘Rolodex’ of interesting quotes on my desk. (If you don’t know what a Rolodex is, you can google it.) Here are a few gems I’d like to share with you all!

“Acceptance doesn’t mean resignation. It means understanding that something ‘is what it is’, and, there’s got to be a way through it.” ~ Michael J. Fox

“Even thou you don’t know what you should be doing or what your mission is, you need to practice creating that vision anyway.” ~ Wayne Dyer.

“Your life is a result of the choices you make; if you don’t like your life, it is time to start making better choices!” ~ Unknown

Respect yourself enough… to walk away from anyone or anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy. From the Laws of Modern Man

Change, it happens every year; every day actually. Maybe you have to let go of who you were, to grow and become who you can be. Look for opportunities. What is changing for you this season?
Enjoy the journey through life,
Kathryn
