The ‘Mouth of Chi’ …

Keeping your entrance clean and clear can bring opportunities to your door.

Keeping your entrance clean and clear can bring opportunities to your door.

The ‘Mouth of Chi’ is at Your Front Door!

The front door and entrance of your home or office is extremely auspicious!

Also referred to as the, ‘mouth of chi’, this area is the gateway between your private space and the outside world.

If your entrance or doorway is blocked in any way, you could be feeling dull, unmotivated or even depressed. This condition can be compared to having a hand over your mouth; you are unable to take a deep breath and the nourishment you require can’t enter.  Fresh energy and opportunities will not be able to cross the threshold.

A check list to open your ‘mouth of chi’:
Keep any debris or tripping hazards clear from the walkway and front door.

  • Make sure the door(s) open fully; find a spot for the extra shoes and seasonal items.
  • Check the light bulbs both inside and out. This area should be well lit.
  • If your door is recessed from the walkway or steps, you may consider an attention-getter in order for people to find you. An enhancement could be placed in the form of flowers, colours or motion.
  • Be sure your welcome mat is in good shape. A dark coloured mat can define your front door as well as catch debris before entering the house.
  • Check that your address is visible from the curb. Trim back the bushes and replace any broken numbers. Not only does the pizza guy need to find you in a timely fashion; so do your friends, family and any emergency crews.
  • Place something cheerful on the wall in your entrance. You should find this item awesome and welcoming when you return home each day.
  • Watch for visual splits when entering or exiting. A split can happen when doors, stairs or furniture is not lined up. This happens when one eye is required to focus at a distance and the other at close range.  A split not only messes with your brain, but can throw you off-balance mentally. Place artwork or bright colours on one side of the split can move you in one direction; it helps to keep both eyes working and focusing together.

The entrance pictured has a lovely arrangement of silk, seasonal flowers. Notice a convex mirror attached to the stucco at eye level. This is a cure for tight entrances. The occupant can open the entrance door and ‘see’ around the corner to avoid bumping into other people coming along the walkway.
Keeping the entrance to your home clean, clear and welcoming can encourage new opportunities to find their way

…to your door.

All the best,

Kathryn

Hi Kathryn!

First of all I love, loved all the ladies in the Group Sessions. I always looked forward to Thursdays to see everyone.

I was having to clear out a room filled with papers and materials, to sort, and then put them all away.
The idea of vacuuming, dusting and keeping things clean was HUGE.

Huge awareness of actually being able to sort, and then find everything again. This is a huge concern for all parts of my house; now I know.

My sewing room is functional now and i only moved one thin… Read more
